Journal 6: Repercussions of blaming someone for sometihng he or she did not do

When blaming someone for something they did not do, there are many repercussions that could occur. If person comes to know who had told false information about them falsely, then they could falsely accuse you of something and then you would be in a world of trouble. In the book we are reading, many people are being falsely accused of things that they have not done and it seems like the person doing some blaming always gets blamed from something also. Other people may also see you as a liar and when you "cry wolf" again, it is very likely that they will not believe you even if what you are saying is true. All of that is tied into integrity and the pride of a person and if other people think that you are a big liar then you will not have much integrity. Many people care what others think of them and you could feel hurt if someone will not believe what you are telling them. If you were to tell false things of one of your friends, then it is very likely that you will lose their friendship, and trust is easier lost than it is gained. If the falsely blamed person were to get in trouble then it would be very hard to feel guilty. It is human nature to feel bad for doing something wrong. In this book people are going to be hung. Putting someone to death for something that they did not do is awful and I do not think that I could do it. Although the characters in this book all hate someone for something they did in the past and now have a way to get back at them. Like one time Kirsten blamed me for stealing her lollipop and it was not me. She got mad at me and to this day we are not friends. She says that we can be friends until I buy her a new one, but I am not going to do it because I did not steal it in the first place.
