Journal 17

Bonding with nature is an experience that I think everyone needs. Because of all of the video games and television and technology, I think that our generation is not going outside as much as we should. My dad is always telling me about how they used to live outside when he was little, running around playing baseball and in the streets with his friends and not much of that happens today. We would rather sit inside and play Call of Duty for hours on hours. I like to bond with nature while I am hunting. We sit outside for hours and just wait and listen to what is going on and enjoy nature. My dad and I go outside when it is still dark to have a better chance at a deer but we also get the watch the sunrise and how the wind picks up when the sun comes out. We are warmer when it is dark out then when the sun comes up, which is weird because I think that the sun should make you warmer. I enjoy the cold and just watching nature in its true element. The squirrels running around, the birds chirping, the branches swaying, and the wind whistling. I love spending time outside but other than while I am hunting or playing sports I do not spend an excessive amount of time outside. I also like to fish during the summer so I guess each season I do something different outside. During the winter I hunt and play in snow and stuff. During the spring I play baseball. In the summer I spend a lot of time outside playing with friends or other stuff. In the fall I fish as well as in the spring and summer. When I am older I am going to try and do the same things with my kids outside and try and limit the video gaming but I will probably game it up with them and destroy their lives in Call of Duty which will probably be outdated by then.
